Episode 2 - Tragic Irony

Synopsis:  Tim Pylypiuk's personal opus continues with Kevin Holtz, Tattoo Artist's Apprentice and artist himself, back at his apartment after a disastrous encounter with his Aunt Laureen at the family reunion barbeque thanks to his mother, Lara, relenting on her promise not to invite her.  But he soon finds his creativity rejuvinated and draws a new tattoo design that captures the attention of Marco, his boss, and the public.  Just as he is set to reach the pinnacle of recognition, the psychological trauma behind its inception causes Kevin to make grevious mistakes at work.  When his therapist invalidates his feelings again towards what Kevin's aunt had done in partnership with Mister Holtz to Kevin in the past, he quits his job and withdraws from life.  By episodes end, we discover what really happened to him at age thirteen.

Rated:  Mature for language and adult situations.

4-5pm - Special guest at 4pm Lianne Holliday-Willey - author of Safety Skills of rAsperger Women, Asperger Syndrome in Adolescence, Asperger Syndrome in the family and Pretending to be normal. Professor Liane Holliday-Willey, who holds a doctorate in psycholinguistics, was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome when she was 35 years old.  Since her diagnosis Liane has focused her research on female Aspies and language skills for people with Asperger syndrome.  Liane is the author of the new book Safety Skills for Asperger Women: How to Save a Perfectly Good Female Life, and the author of the international best selling books Pretending to be Normal: Living with Aspergers Syndrome, Asperger Syndrome in Adolescence Living with the Ups, the Downs and Things in Between, Asperger Syndrome in the Family: Redefining Normal.  She is also the Senior Editor of Autism Spectrum Quarterly and a consultant with Behavioral Resources and Institute for Neuropsychological Services. Liane and her husband Tom own a horse boarding stable in Michigan.

**The Mind Stream of Poetry and Music LIVE 2nd Monday of the month.

This is an Encore presentation of Part I in a serial play called "Tug Of War" on Radio Drama.  The chatroom will be open for discussion but the switchboard is closed.  Direct all questions and comments there for the duration.

 

Synopsis:  Gloira Dagit is just like any other young person, except with challenges of her own.  One of which is balancing a relationship between her two best friends, Victoria, and Luke Bruno where she is constantly caught in the middle for her troubles.  Luke is particularly a troubled case, prone to violent outbursts and bouts of deliquent behaviour whom clings to Gloria.  In this first episode, her world and support structure is introduced.  By the end, after nearly losing Victoria she decides to break off her friendship with Luke.  But can she stick to her guns in the future?

How she succeeded, got married, had two beautiful daughters and became employed, combined with her journey helping others.

Andy Driesewerd - also a Self Advocate as a person on the autistic spectrum with cerebral palsy and who is blind. Andy has been a long time friend of ANCA (over several years) and has much insight to share the world. He is also a self proclaimed nerd, artist and writer as well as singer!
