This was annual Winter Park Juneteenth Celebration where i captured the Libation Ceremony in which we honored our Ancestors.

E Pluribus Unum (Latin for "Out of many, one") is a foundational phrase that signifies the creation of one united nation out of the original 13 colonies in 1776. This phrase served as the de facto motto of the United States for 180 years until it was changed to In God We Trust.

While there are those who are trying to erase or rewrite our history and our contributions to the world which exceeds 400 years of free labor, the Preamble to the Constitution states,

" We the People of the United States , in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

The language of the preamble establishes that authority of the Government comes from the citizens.

We the people, cannot forget this , our Ancestors will not let us forget.

On May 20, 1865 in Tallahassee, Florida, The Emancipation Proclamation which had been signed by President Abraham Lincoln , 2 years ago was read to slaves who learned they were free!

I attended an event in Deland on May 16, 2026, sponsored by The Goldsboro Historical Museum and the African American Museum in Deland . This is part 1 of 2.

I thought I might also share some interesting cultural facts about Rain, Thunder and Lightning.

Oya is the primary Yoruba Orisha of weather, specifically commanding winds, thunderstorms, lightning, and tornadoes,

Oya represents sudden, transformative change. An apt description for times in which we are currently living

In Greek mythology Zeus is the King of Gods who controls the sky, lightning and thunder. Poseidon also known as "The Stormbringer" controls sea storms and earthquakes.

In the Norse tradition, Thor, known for his hammer Mjolnir, is the God of thunder, lightning and strength.

The Romans have Jupiter, the King of the Roman Gods who manages the weather and sky.

In Mesopotamain/Canaanite traditions, Hadad/Adad is the primary God of rain and thunderstorms, often depicted with a bull-horned headdress and a thunderbolt.

In the Celtic tradition, Taranis is the God of thunder and lightning.

In Japan, Susanoo, is the Shinto God of the sea and storms.

The Mayan creator God, Huracan is associated with wind and storms as well destruction.

Just a few historical tidbits to pay homage to Mother Nature as i share my morning rain, thunder, and lightning esperience with you!

We are living in extraordinary times!

There is a group of Buddhist Monks, along with a stray dog, Aloka, who followed them on a similar pilgrimage in India, from the Huong Dao Vipassana Center in Ft. Worth Texas who are walking to promote Peace, Compassion and Non-Violence.

Their 2,300 mile journey started on October 26, 2025 and will end in Washington DC around the middle of February 2026.

Buddhism is a philosophy and religion that offers a path to end suffering by understanding its causes and following the Noble Eightfold Path to reach Nirvana.

I am lucky to live near many different religious temples, mosques, monasteries, and houses of worship that i have visited and attended events at.

it's important that we educate ourselves and have an Open Heart and Mind in an effort to expose ourselves to diversity of thought and religion.
