As we begin our journey through the book of Jeremiah, we will be challenged to get comfortable being uncomfortable. Jeremiah was called to be a prophet to the nation of Judah. Even though he was unqualified, God had created him for this purpose. But what can an ancient calling to a long dead prophet speak to us today?

Unlike the Old Covenant, which was based on the Law given to Israel through Moses, the New Covenant is based on grace, internal transformation, and direct fellowship with God.

The prophets call God’s people back to faithfulness and foretell of a Messiah who would bring peace by bearing the sin of his people.

Israel’s desire and demand for a human king leads to God’s promise of an eternal King & Kingdom.
