David is crushed by his sin with Bathsheba, and although he feels the stinging shame of sin, he goes back to the only thing that can truly relieve him of guilt and restore his soul, God. While not all guilt and shame is good, the guilt and shame of our sin is a barometer forcing us to turn to Jesus as our redeemer to restore the joy of our salvation.

Our passage reminds us of their ultimate demise and that our role is never bitterness or revenge, but gracious love allowing for God to seek justice on your behalf

Like David we can have confidence, while facing any and all trials/fears, in our God because of who he is. We all want security, but when we trust in finite hands our security is temporal. If we trust in God who is eternal, there is nothing that we should fear, for he restores us and makes us whole.

The world desires justice but they have no ability for redemption. Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection issues both as Jesus Reigns over us as our King and Lord and also Mediates for us as our Priest.

This Psalm being a "Royal Psalm" is clearly a Psalm about he Messiah, Jesus. It is the most quoted Psalm in the New Testament as it relates to Jesus as the fulfillment. This Psalm is so important because it shows us that, Jesus not only Reigns over us as our Lord but He also Mediates for us as our Priest
