The Golden Age is the term ancient Greeks used to refer to an utopian period that prevailed on Earth at the beginning of their recorded history. It was characterized by peace, harmony and abundance; for the people of the time had no need for laws or rules; everyone did the right thing, and immorality was absent. It was a very real period of time for them.
The ancient Greeks were not alone in this belief. The notion of a ‘lost’ golden period of mankind extends well beyond the ancient Greeks and is in fact found universally all over the globe in myth stories and writings.
