In this Episode of Ancient Love of Gods, William McKay and I talk about the Roman God Janus.  Janus was The God of Beginnings, Choices and Doorways.  Mostly, Janus is shown with 2 faces - one looking forward, the other backward, as through a gateway.  Fun fact about Janus, did you know that back in 1965 Janus formed the famous rock group - The Doors!

Bang, clash, schwing in this Episode of Ancient Love of Gods, I talk with Sirius Kenna about Ares.  Ares was the God of War and the sister of Athena.  Although being the God of War, Ares rarely figures in mythological stories, but when he does, he usually suffers some form of humiliation - Big Oof!

In this epic Episode of Ancient Love of Gods, Mr. Lintern and I talked about Athena.  Athena was the Goddess of Wisdom, War, and Useful Arts. Hera and Athena fought against Paris in the Trojan War since he awarded the Golden Apple to Aphrodite.  However, something really cool that Athena invented was the flute, but actually, she never played it.

Do you hear that?  It is the sound of victory!  That's exactly what we will be talking about in today's Episode, when Minh Phan joins me.  She is depicted as sitting on the hands of Athena, and is said to be very close to her.  This statue is said to be located at a Parthenon. A similar figure is said to exist on the acropolis (a citadel overlooking Athens on a cliff).

In today's episode I will be talking to Mr. Grimes about Hephaestus, the God of Blacksmiths and Fire.  Funnily enough, Hephaestus’s forge / workshop was located underneath a volcano, and the work that he did caused frequent eruptions.  On the topic of his workshop, Hephaestus had assistants made out of gold who helped him work on things.

Hello there!  In this Episode Mr. Baron-Lyons and I talk about Hades, King of the Underworld and also the brother of Zeus and Poseidon.  Hades wasn’t the most fortunate when getting domains.  As some of you may know Zeus got the Sky, Poseidon the Sea, and Hades the Underworld.

In the Parthenon joining us today is my very good friend, William McKay!  We dove into today’s episode and discussed Dionysus, the God of Wine.  Dionysus preferred to walk amongst we humans, rather than be on Mount Olympus partying like a madman.  Dionysus rescued the Princess of Crete, Ariadne.  Subsequently, Dionysus fell in love with her. However, upon her death, Dionysus placed the crown that he had given her among the stars.
