In the fourth episode of GSC’s podcast, hosts Sarah Murphy and David Willows explore the world of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and its potential relevance in the health benefits space.

After guests from MEMOTEXT, Amos Adler and Bill Simpson, are introduced (@ 2:35), Amos and Bill explain what their cool start-up is doing to help companies in our industry (@ 6:34) and do their best to define Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for lay people (@ 10:19). Finally, the Memotext guys explain what Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning already exists in the Canadian health care landscape (@ 15:07) and make their bold predictions for its future use (@ 18:38).  

In Episode 3, hosts Sarah Murphy and David Willows discuss GSC’s backup plan if the new podcast’s download numbers disappoint. Then in a pure ratings play, the team turns to the industry’s hottest topic, medical marijuana. GSC experts Marilyn Jung and Ned Pojskic are joined by special guest Mike Sullivan (of Cubic Health Inc.) to debate the best way plan sponsors can expand coverage of medical marijuana to plan member populations.

In episode 2, hosts Sarah and David describe the unnecessarily tortured process of choosing music for the podcast. This is followed (mercifully) by interviews with Dr. Peter Farvolden (clinical director of CBT Associates and BEACON @  5:56 min) and Peter Gove (GSC’s health innovation leader @ 23:05 min). Listen as David Willows (GSC's chief innovation & marketing officer) interviews the first Peter about his insider take on mental health treatment in Canada and then challenges the second Peter to define Mindfulness and defend the science behind it.  

In the first episode, the GSC team describes the strange location of its new Podcast studio. Things get more serious as your host David Willows (GSC's Chief Innovation & Marketing Officer) interviews Peter Gove (GSC’s health innovation leader @ 7:11 min) about the mental health crisis in Canada and the problems with current treatment options. He also interviews Erin Crump (GSC’s strategic innovation leader @ 19:29 min) about the purpose of today’s benefits plans and whether or not decision makers are making the tough calls to promote future sustainability.
