  • Hearing God's Call: Traditional Worship 11-3-24
God calls us to various tasks and roles, not based on our strengths or qualifications, but on what He knows we are capable of. We don’t need to have everything figured out to take steps forward in obedience; instead, we should trust that God will equip and sustain us as we follow Him regardless of our perceived inadequacies or the ordinary circumstances in which we find ourselves. For each of us, there are two types of callings from God—the primary calling of saying “yes” to Jesus as Savior and Lord, and the secondary calling of following God’s guidance in various aspects of life. We must be attentive to God’s call in our everyday lives and respond with faith.

  • To Do the Impossible: Traditional Worship 10-27-24
God calls us to listen to His voice, not the voices of those who say that God’s call is impossible.
Some thought Goliath was too big to fight. David thought Goliath was too big to miss. David rose up with a perspective of faith, not fear, to do what people said was impossible—slaying Goliath. He kept his focus on God’s faithfulness; and without fancy equipment, he used what he had, five stones and a slingshot. Is there something in your life that you have made bigger than the living God? What has God given you to use as you follow His call?

  • To Follow God's Call: Traditional 10-20-24
God called Samuel at an early age to listen and then to speak on His behalf. Samuel was faithful
with what he was given. Whether he was called to deliver a message to a priest, a citizen of Israel, or a king, Samuel said yes. Sometimes the messages were exciting, but more often they were scary and difficult to deliver. Yet throughout his life, Samuel remained faithful and God opened new doors as Samuel responded. God empowers us when we answer His call. Listen to God’s voice and take the next faithful steps into your calling.

  • Above All Excuses: Modern Worship 10-13-24
Moses went from being the guy with all the excuses to the guy who courageously obeyed. There’s always an excuse not to invest in the Kingdom of God or the next generation. God wants your faithfulness, not your excuses. Conventional thinking is that God has a plan for my life. Kingdom thinking is offering your life for God’s plan. Rather than focusing on our sufficiency or insufficiency, God calls us to focus on His sufficiency. Live by the power of the Holy Spirit, not your human limitations.

  • For Such a Time as This: Traditional 9-6-24
Esther left the comfort and safety of the palace to save her fellow Israelites. She did not allow the culture to undermine her faith and she risked her life in the unfolding of God’s plan of redemption. God continually calls us out of our comfort zone into the faith zone. For over 200 years, generations of faithful followers have continually risen up to serve Jesus and spread the gospel. Now it’s our time! Ask God how He wants to build His Kingdom through you.
