Just as a branch can only bear fruit when it remains attached to the vine, so we can only live in a way that pleases the Father when we remain closely connected to Jesus.
Follow Jesus! He is your Good Shepherd who knows you, cares for you, and protects you forever. He alone can direct your life and lead you into abundant and eternal life.
God the Father desires everyone to be with Him in His home, but there is only one way to get there - through His Son, Jesus Christ.
We all hunger. We all, at least from time to time, attempt to satiate that hunger with many things that can never satisfy. But our hunger is actually a gift from God. Our hunger is a reminder that what we really hunger for is God, who alone can give us the true food that can satisfy our deepest needs and longings forever.
When we perceive God's glory in the person of Jesus Christ, we can believe Him for anything, even eternal life. Do you believe in Jesus Christ for life that lasts forever? Do you live like a person who believes - fearless, bold, and courageous? Remember the resurrection of Jesus and be changed forever.
Death happens, and there is nothing under the sun that anyone can do about it. How then can we live useful lives, drawn forward by hope rather than discouraged by despair? Solomon exhorts us to remember our Creator, along with all of the gifts He has given, and will give, to His people.
Human government, like wisdom, wealth, and work, can be a good gift, but it fails miserably as a god. As citizens of both heaven and earth, it is our duty to work for government that fulfills our Creator's intended will, but we should never trust that any mere human efforts could put all things right under the sun. Instead, we are to live wisely in this current age, while waiting for God's chosen King to establish His perfect reign upon the earth. This is our hope.
Work is a blessing, but it can feel like a curse. Our work is one of the primary arenas in which we reflect the nature of God and in which we are transformed into the character of God. But when we begin to despise work, or conversely worship work, it becomes a source of frustration rather than fulfillment. Is work, for you, a blessing or a curse?
Even the best things in life are meaningless... if this life is all there is. Without God and without a clear vision of the life to come, cynicism and despair are inescapable. However, God is real, God is in charge, and God has promised us a life after this one that gives meaning to all of our activities "under the sun."
