When Jesus ascended he didn't just leave us behind. He also didn't just go to get the eternal hotel in order. He went to take on the throne of creation. And he left us with a mandate...Go. We are called to do more than sit in a garden and look pretty, we are called to go and bear fruit.

Methodism may have had it's energy in the events of Aldersgate, but the launchpad for the methodist movement occurred much earlier. It was in a small parish home that one woman laid the foundation for what it took to be covered in prayer.

Mary Magdala was the first preacher, evangelist and pastor. She was also ignored. But that didn't stop her from proclaiming. She is a person with a story who became something that the roman world couldn't handle.

May of Nazareth, the mom of Jesus. We often have a very high opinion of Mary - rightfully so - but she was as human as we are. She showed great joy at her calling and also great worry at what she couldn't control. We turn our attention to this mom and ask ourselves what we learn from her.

The Women of Easter are a strong group of disciples. Yes, disciples is the right word. They were the first evangelists and the first preachers. We have a lot we can learn from these women who were the first to tell the story.

Peter is known for a lot of things - mostly things like putting his foot in his mouth or denying 3 times that he even knew Jesus. But Peter experienced a resurrection very different than most anyone else. He had a big moment that would change the whole world.
