While we divert our focus and energy to what we are conditioned to think is important for our survival, we hardly ever realise that the collective mind runs on the same fuel which is burned over and over to protect us from the unknown and make sure we are "safe"... And when the new knowledge suddenly arrives we will be well prepared to deny the obvious (=the truth).
