Today, we're diving deep into the art of persuasion and connection. If you've ever faced a wall of resistance in your conversations—whether in negotiations, coaching, or even everyday interactions—this episode is for you.
In this episode I’ll explore with you the critical elements of rapport building, including some quick hacks like pacing and leading, to instantly create a connection. We’ll discuss how to tap into emotions and use suggestions effectively, along with the power of body language and positioning to foster compliance.
But it doesn’t stop there. We'll dive into the importance of collecting information through open-ended questions—aiming to uncover someones dreams, desires, fears, and frustrations. Understanding why someone might initially say no can transform your approach and lead to a breakthrough.
We’ll also touch on the fascinating insights from Milgram’s shocking experiment, which highlighted how authority can influence behaviour in unexpected ways.
And finally, I’ll guide you through a practical technique that uses strategic questioning to elicit agreement and pave the way for compliance, all while keeping the focus on the other person's values and emotions.

You’re also in a difficult situation. You’re the designer, maker, marketer, sales, fulfilment, accounts all rolled into one. If you could just create and then life would be amazing.

Episode 18. How to Make a Permanent Change using a biopsychosocial strategy.
Change is never easy. It's a journey that can be fraught with difficulties, and making that change permanent? That’s a whole different level. Our natural inclination is to stay within our comfort zones. It’s where we feel safe, familiar, and in control. But when it comes to transforming our lives, stepping out of that comfort zone is often the first hurdle we face.
Our habits and routines, the ones we’ve practiced and automated over time, are like invisible scripts running in the background of our daily lives. They guide our actions with minimal conscious effort, making them notoriously hard to alter. And let’s not forget the fears and frustrations that often accompany the idea of change—these emotional barriers can be formidable obstacles in our path.
But what if I told you there’s a more effective way to tackle these challenges? Instead of wrestling with these obstacles head-on, why not approach your change strategy through the lens of the biopsychosocial model? By focusing on biological, psychological, and social pathways, you can address your change goals with precision and sustain your progress over time.
In this episode, we’ll break down how integrating these three dimensions can help you navigate and conquer the complexities of permanent change. We’ll provide actionable strategies and real-life examples to guide you on your journey to making enduring, meaningful transformations.
So, get ready to challenge your comfort zone, reshape your habits, and embrace a holistic approach to change. Let’s get started!

Why can’t you change in some parts of your life? The secret to creating long lasting change. Episode 15.
Imagine some aspect of your life that you don’t like. Now imagine that part of your life the way you would like it to be. Click your fingers and the change occurs in an instant. Wouldn’t that be nice.
Why do some changes occur instantly and other changes never happen?
In this episode we explore the mechanics of change and how you can make a change happen in an instant despite the countless times you’ve unsuccessfully tried to change. And what are some of the immediate strategies you can implement to make that change and keep it going.
Everyone wants to change.
Change is in our DNA. We actually all have reward circuitry in the brain that lights up when we are presented with something new or different.
Get clear on what you want to change.
Sometime you think you want to change because you want to achieve one aim but you really are seeking a completely different outcome.
Feel pleasure and pain on the journey of gain.
Learn to enjoy the journey in a way you never thought was important to change.
Use your failures as clues.
Each time you fail you are getting closer to long term change. Use failures as the path of bread crumbs to your permanent chnage.
Your alignment is off.
Are your goals, values and fears misaligned? Without proper alignment you can be thrown right off.
Focus - Your energy flows where your attention goes.
Laser focus is what you remember to repeat over and over again.
Change happens anytime. Don’t wait for the perfect moment.
Every second you wait for the right moment is wasted.
Fear is stopping you from changing.
Don't let it.
