On AndYouAre's fifteenth episode, I am passing the baton for a day to Foster who heads the consulting team at AsWeAre. We wanted to discuss something that's been controversial for far too long, Marijuana. Our guest today, Michael McKeon, working in the industry in northern California. He's here to debunk the myths and educate us all on how Marijuana could fit into our lives.

Michael's mission is to change the perception of cannabis, to bring more holistic medicines to those who need them, and to encourage more ecologically friendly practices in the agriculture industry.

On AndYouAre's fourteenth episode, I brought back the founder of our company AsWeAre, Lauren O'Neill. A tragic attack recently took place at our nation's Capitol. As we move out of 2020 and into 2021 we are working on coming together and healing.

Lauren talks about her personal political journey, one she isn't proud of, but one that was very necessary. We discuss the state of the nation and the thoughts behind both liberal and conservative views. We are all on a journey to create a safer place for everyone.

On AndYouAre's thirteenth episode, we speak with Jayda Biggs and Jessica Ruff about the holidays coming up and how the celebrate. While Christmas is usually the talk of the town, we wanted to remind others that holidays can look lots of ways.

Jayda talks about growing up in a Jewish family and celebrating Hanukkah; Jessica talks about celebrating a non-religious culture holiday. All the holiday talk funnels to the real topic of conversation, paid time off in the workplace. We discuss our hope of change for this "No Vacation Nation"

On AndYouAre's twelfth episode, we speak with Janel Monet, founder of Birthrise where she works as a doula and childbirth educator. Through the Birthrise online education platform she provides birth education reflective of black, brown and queer bodies, something that is surprisingly hard to find. 

Birthrise offers full scholarships to BIPOC birthing people who have alarmingly higher rates of maternal and infant death in the US medical system. She hopes access to quality birth education can contribute to better outcomes and give folks more autonomy in their birthing bodies. You can find out more at www.birthrise.com

On AndYouAre's eleventh episode, we speak with Mallory and Cynthia from the Change the Mascot UT organization. 

Change the Mascot Utah is a community led organization to raise awareness and take action regarding cultural misappropriation of the Native Americans. They are currently working towards changing the “Brave” mascot at Bountiful High School in Utah, a mascot that objectifies and dehumanizes Native American individuals. On AndYouAre's tenth episode, we speak with one of our own, Samson Winsor. Samson identifies as a transgender male that is joining me to talk about Transgender Awareness Week.

Samson talks about his personal journey through his transition while also addressing some of the most frequently asked questions about the topic as a whole. Something we do learn is that while education is important, being respectful when curious is the best way to ensure safety and comfort. Please take a moment to honor the transgender souls we lost with the Transgender Day of Remembrance.

On AndYouAre's ninth episode, we speak with the hardest worker I know, Renn Bernasor. At only 25, Reen took the leap of moving from her home city of Chicago down to Austin, TX to pursue her education in theatre at Texas State University.

Reen portrays the perfect example of the average work life we deal with nowadays. Obstacle after obstacle, Reen has always shown me that you can not only be a good employee, but work up in a company with diligence and good leadership. She talks specifically about what it takes to be a manager.
