What is it like to be a resident, or physician in training, at this point in time, pandemic and all?
Adaobi, a current Anesthesiology resident starting her second year in medical training (which is also the first year in her specialty), gives us a preview into the world of medicine. Her personal reflections speak to the growing pains of acclimating to the surgical floor and staff, work-life balance, but most importantly, the value of cultivating resiliency, emotional intelligence, and the means to carry a resolute demeanor in all interactions. She is currently a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, and also holds a Master's Degree in Public Health.
