Members Reviews:
Nope, not for me... Children should be a priority.
I can't recommend this book. As a mother, my children are my number one priority. You reject them and I'm out of there faster than you can say bye. Heather had a baby and never told Todd. When the baby is 3 years old she feels overwhelmed and decides to look for the baby daddy. That's when my issues started with this story. Your child is your responsibility. How can that character even consider dropping the baby with her father just so she can have an easier life and pursue acting. That's selfish. Then Heather arrives at Whispering Wind and Todd rejects the kid over and over again. Even after the paternity test he still said he didn't want custody only wanted to pay child support and Heather stayed there and insisted?!?! And even through that she had sex with him?!?! OMG! That character has no pride and doesn't really value her own daughter. I don't get it. If Todd didn't want to interact with his daughter then Heather needed to move on, get the child support and hire a nanny or sitter and continue her life trying to be the best mom. I know that the author's justification is that Todd had a past experience that made him be afraid to be near kids but why not simply say it or request to be accompanied by the mother when e interacted with his own daughter.
I've read and enjoyed other "secret baby" stories but in all of the others the heroes were always willing and happy to spend time with their kids. Their issues would only be with the mother. Although I really disliked this story I must say that the narration was very good. Maybe that's why I finished it.
I loved this book
What made the experience of listening to Angel Mine the most enjoyable?
I enjoyed this book so much. The storyline was great although predictable at times. It seems sort of strange to have this big production studio in the country with these rich folks walking around. BUT it was still a great read.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Angel has to be my favorite character. She's this little innocent girl that everyone falls in love with and the narratior's voice matched this energeic little girl so well.
Which scene was your favorite?
When the mother left Angel with her dad with no warning. It was great to hear him fall right into daddy mode like he's been parenting forever.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No extreme emotions. Such a delightful PG13 book.
Another Great Story
Once again, this author has written a beautiful entertaining, riveting and loving story. Had to listen to it twice. I really enjoyed the narrator.
