Unique Concept

Jason needs a wife for his six kids, aged 3-14. He advertises and two applicants come to stay at the same time. What a romp. Natalie won all their hearts, despite the pranks. A thoroughly enjoyable story.

Way Too Short

The writing in this short book was competent, but there wasn't much substance, I'm sorry to say. First of all, the entire concept of a woman (Natalie) desperate enough to apply to be an instant "mommy" to six children of a widowed man is completely unrealistic. Especially when the woman has a creative career where she makes money and a loving family of her own (lots of sisters and nieces, nephews, loving parents, etc.). She doesn't even tell them and takes off (supposedly for three weeks) in response to an ad for a mommy? Please. I suspended reality and did finish this book (short story, really). The widower, Jason, and his children are charming enough. Supposedly he travels a lot and needs to get back to it since the untimely death of his wife a year before. But then I didn't hear much more about his need to travel. The set-up is also far-fetched in that another woman (completely opposite from Natalie and not nearly as attractive, of course) has also been invited to stay under Jason's roof for a "try out." The whole thing just seemed distasteful and odd. So many authors want to write a marriage of convenience story these days, and this seems to be the author's attempt to write that story line. It rarely works in a contemporary novel. In my opinion, it didn't work well in this instance. The only reason for three stars is that the author shows potential. There were some obvious editing errors and the description of Natalie in the book doesn't match the cover at all! Those should be a given, but I don't necessarily fault the author alone for those oversights. Unfortunately, the characters aren't well-fleshed out, either, and the story is just much too rushed, especially toward the end. As I mentioned in another review, I sincerely hope this publisher would reconsider the direction of future offerings in their Holiday Extravaganza. The quality of their seasonal books has definitely declined, sad to say.

The coed and the coffee shop manager

Sasha is spending the summer with her dad, who lives in OR...shes starting college in the fall in AZ. Dad pulls the plug on his checkbook so Sasha applies for a job at the local coffee shop. Shes immediately smitten w the manager, Tanner. The majority of the book details Sashas summer...her rocky relationship with her dad, her friendship w coworkers & relationship w Tanner. Tanners mother owns the coffee shop but is not a fan of Sasha...shes Team Luna-Tanners ex. Sasha is torn between returning home for college or staying in OR. Then Tanners ex returns & wants him back...will Sasha give up? This was a quick YA read and the youthful antics were pretty funny. Good book.

Great young adult romance

I love the coffee shop in this book, the description of it is so wonderfully quirky and the people who work there are just as unique.

Sasha comes across really well, she's completely believable as an 18 year old with all the angst and passion that comes with that. Taten wasn't what I was expecting, the blurb lists him as super hot, but he's referred to as cute by Sasha which is different. He's comes across as quirky, OK a bit weird, but that's a good fit for the people around him. Some of his logic seems very flawed but it did make for a interesting a sweet romance.

The narration is a good match for the book and the character voices are well done.

Sweet Contemporary Romance

The story is well written and I got sucked in from the beginning. Its a great young adult book with the heroine being 18 years old and the main character a couple of years older.

Narration was excellent and brought the story to life.

There were some interesting and some odd characters in this book. Tanner is a sweetheart although a bit undecided on what to do at times. Sasha is bold and forward.

Conclusion was great and everything worked out for the best. Once I got sucked into this story it was hard to put down.

I really enjoyed this authors writing style. Im looking forward to reading more books from this series.

a great billionare romance

I received this book from my own free will for an honest review.

I was in awe, liked it so much. Let's begin with the characters, I always love them they are so real and have so many problems that can happen to anyone anywhere. Ethan was crazy, a little paranoic but that made relate to him more. Lily was so sweet but strong at the same time, she was the best.

the plot was steady and left me wanting more of this story, it was the perfect balance between romance, drama and sensuality.

now we need a series so Chloe have her chance to get a happy ending.

Ethan and Lily

I have to say before I start this audio review that I read the ebook first so I knew what to expect but the audio book, I think, gives you so much more depth.

If you have read the blurb you will know what to expect but the blurb won't tell you how well this book is written and performed. The storyline is good, it's different to what I've come to expect from Lisa Lace in that I'm more accustomed to reading/listening to her books about super alien races, hot sexy guys with wings no less!

Ethan and Lily have known each other forever, she is a couple of years younger than him but they have so much in common age doesn't seem to matter. They lived close to each other and had the perfect friendship, they made plans for their future after school was finished. They planned to travel the world. There was just one thing wrong with their plans they didn't have any money to do it with.

Ethan suffered a devastating loss, his mother died and he felt that if he had been able to pay for treatment she would have lived. If only he had kept his dead end job instead of giving it up to paint he could have made a difference. His mother was his sole parent and her loss puts him into the system until he is old enough to leave it.

Lily lives with her parents and although she knows how upset Ethan is she doesn't really realize how it is going to affect both their lives.

Shortly after Lily's graduation and the consummation of their love Ethan leaves, he doesn't say goodbye, he doesn't leave a forwarding address he even disconnects his phone. Lily is bereft! Why? What's wrong?

Unbeknownst to Lily Ethan had applied for and been accepted into Columbia, he has to work two jobs and has loans coming out of his ears but he is never going to be so poor he can't pay for medicine again!

Whilst in college his roommate and he develop a computer programme worth a lot of money but his roommate cuts him out of the deal starting what turns into a fude lasting years.

Well, she's done it again! The Mechanic was great, and this one is just as good. - and just as funny! Our heroine is Jasmine (real name Jade), and she's been hiding out in a little town for nearly two years, Her parents are con artists, stealing money from poor pensioners, and looking for our girl so they can convince her to give them the money left to her by her grandfather. Her former fiance is Richard, a crooked FBI agent, who is also after her, because he knows her grandfather left her a priceless jewel, worth a million dollars, and he wants it more than he wants her. See why she's hiding out?

Just okay.

This story was okay. I didn't really care for Heath and I thought Jasmine/Jade gave into his demands entirely too easily. A couple times I would have liked to see her knee him in the groin instead of melt into his arms when he grabbed her and kissed her. But that's just my opinion. I like buildup of the sexual tension in the books I read and the one had none. It wasn't a bad story but it definitely wasn't my favorite either.

new twist with the religious cult

Lovely Listen

Well written and performed. The story was really good but suffered from some unnecessary cliches but overall I think it's meant I be like this. The first third is really amazing and it's only afterwards the story gets a little weak. Great performance from James Langton although the dialogue was not as well as written so it seemed weak when delivering it. 3.5/5

A bit too 'mushy' for my liking

The story was OK, but there were moments where the romance went a bit too far and strayed into the territory of being very corny. The narrator didn't help, as he has a habit of going up at the end of his sentences, which gets a bit grating. But, it was alright as a distraction during a commute and I did manage to get to the end of the book without giving up.

It's OK. Kind of a feel good love story

Although its a good book to listen to while driving if you are using audible, I would say the story is a bit of a cliché. But all in all a kind of feel good love story.

Lexy Timms story line is easy to follow and enjoy. He built the confidence up of Harmony's sister who he falls in love with and a happy ending after a long romance ends in marriage.

Great Christmas story

I loved the book the first time I read it, still as funny and light hearted all you could want in a Christmas novel.

The funniest moment was when kyle resites his own verson of Rudolph thr red nose renighdeer.

The only thing that let it down is I felt the narrator lack any enthusiasm while reading it was very flat in places.

Otherwise a fab book.
