How might we prototype a unit--fast and loose and with creative, multimodal tools and resources--and then, let it breathe a bit?

A quick reflection for those who are new to this way of thinking.

How might you create a community blueprint and invite writers to rough-in the frame? What are the load-bearing walls inside of your curriculum? Let's mock them up and start thinking about the structures that writers will explore and produce as they settle in and make themselves at home. 

Why did you become a writing teacher? What difference did you hope to make? Has that changed over time, and if so, how? What is your vision of the teacher you hope to become and the legacy you plan to leave behind? How might you invite your students to define a clear vision for their own writing lives? How might you seek alignment between them and even, articulate shared standards--YOUR standards? In this episode, I'll share what I've learned about the importance of this work and why this moment is calling all of us to practice a different kind of alignment.
