In abundance, man feels constricted

Yet happiness remains denied

He felt this deeply in his dreams

As fortune turned the tide

Performed a deed of worth untold

To himself, he stayed true

Embracing fate, brave and bold

Lust felt like a greedy chase

Deep down, he knows this well

Such things he does not embrace

Yet truth he must dispel

He left it all behind, set free

Departed, vanished from sight

He understands, finally

And finds himself in the light

In plenty or in desperate need

He finds no meaning there

An angel whispers, taking heed

"The path lies within, I swear"

He walks on, step by step

With newfound confidence and grace

Life's a climb, a joyful rep

But he sets his own pace
