Russell has authored or coauthored numerous scholarly articles and books, including CFT Made Simple, CFT from the Inside Out, An Open-Hearted Life: Transformative Lessons for Compassionate Living from a Clinical Psychologist and a Buddhist Nun, and Buddhist Psychology and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy: A Clinician's Guide.
But Russell has also pioneered the application of CFT to the treatment of problematic anger. In 2012 he published The Compassionate Mind Guide to Managing Your Anger, based on his work with men in correctional services helping them cultivate true strength via CFT. And he has his latest book due to be published at the end of May 2024, called The Anger Workbook, designed to help readers discover the strength to transform your anger using CFT.
