The degenerates talk about potential reasons why there is so much sexuality in anime. From moaning in seemly innocent scenes to tig ol' bitties and big butts, and how almost anything can be fetishized. The answer... has some pretty interesting roots.

Trying something new.  We answer listener questions.

1. Was Bleach sexist? They made Rukia give up her powers to the male main character

2. Is reading manga and being watching anime a nerd thing to do? What defines nerd now?

3. I'd like to hear some opinions on if the bar's been lowered to what we consider a 'good' anime to be

4. Were anime cons always party-oriented? How did the anime convention culture evolve to what it is now?

In this episode, we talk about Visual Novels (VNs) and how I believe they are one of the best mediums in anime/otaku culture. It's rich and quite in-depth and it's anime adaptions rarely do it justice. Most of the time, it would be hard to adapt a visual novel and many great stories never received an anime adaption yet.

VTubers, a hit that's been under the radar for a few years, has really started to take off in the past few years. Kyle and JV discuss VTubers and what makes them unique and exciting. JV has been a bit too invested in VTubers since the break... like... way too deep.

Curious which VTuber's JV likes?  Kiryu Coco, Tsunomaki Watame, Inugami Korone, Natsuiro Matsuri, Uruha Rushia, Usada Pekora, and Mori Calliope, Ninomae Ina’nis, from the ENG.... JV also has a soft spot for Aki Rosenthal.

You a subtitle purist or you dub-curious?  We make a case for both. Of course, we're going to love the subtitles and we hope in this episode the purist dabble in dub curiosity... come on. Also, Dub was our gateway to anime culture so why knock it?

In this episode, JV slams on anime reviews.  Comparing things to Ghibli is such an easy cop out.

As we get older, so does anime's presence in mainstream culture.  Kyle and JV take a look at anime and its impact on music.  They discuss how Adult Swim became the introduction to connecting J-Dilla beats to anime.  JV introduces kyle to nakinkyo, one of the best anime mashup artists on youtube, and how Hatsune Miku can be found in the music of Atlanta rapper Big Boi of Outkast and The Neptune's Pharrell Williams.
