Volunteering to do pro bono (unpaid) animal communication sessions can be a vital part of building your trust bank and gaining experience with a variety of different situations and personalities, both animal and human. But should reaching out to animal shelters be a part of that? Shannon offers a variety of insights to think through as you are considering whether reaching out to a local charity or rescue organization should be part of your ongoing development as a communicator.

Just like humans, non-human animals go through all kinds of experiences in life, including situations that are traumatizing. Many animal communicators are natural empaths and some also have the genetic trait of high sensitivity. Add to these a caring heart and sincere desire to be of service, and it can be all too easy for the developing communicator to blur the energetic boundary between themselves and the animal. 

Shannon talks about how to set up and maintain strong energetic boundaries so you can be of service to the animals without the risk of taking on energy or emotion that is not yours to process.

There are many intuitive pathways through which we can receive communication from an animal we want to talk with. Deep knowing, also called claircognizance, is one of these pathways. Shannon offers tips and ideas for how to tell when you are experiencing deep knowing versus when your mind has started to interfere and draw its own conclusions.
