In this week's episode, we dive into the growing bird death epidemic. There are many societal contributions to the rising number of bird deaths but we particularly talk about the most influential factors such as felines, the bird flu, and collisions into man-made structures, and how we can mitigate their effects. We also had the opportunity to sit down and talk to Jonathan Chu, a Ph.D. student from the University of Guelph whose thesis research revolves around tracking the activity and diet of domesticated cats in the Cambridge/Guelph area.
Check out this clip that Jonathan shared with us which is interesting, to say the least... Warning this is raw footage of Jonathan's research which depicts the reality of predator and prey in nature: https://youtu.be/1_1g_i5Dru0
