This time we were lucky enough to chat with Pat Irwin. Pat is a musician and composer whose animated credits include the soundtracks to Rocko's Modern Life, Pepper Ann and Spongebob Square Pants. The soundtrack to Rocko's Modern Life has just been released on Nickelodeon Records.

We talked about Pat's career, his memories of working on Rocko, his love of cartoons and more!

2023: The Year Ahead In Animated Film

Well, hello there! Can you believe The AFA Podcast is five years old this summer? We decided we needed to do something pretty special to mark this occasion. And what better way than by talking about one of our favourite films released in this podcast's lifetime (but somehow didn't managed to do a full episode on yet)? We were able to get the full original crew (as heard on the first episode) for the first time in a while- Rachael, Chris, Dan and Yvonne are all here! The film in question is none other than the Oscar-winning, game-changing dimension-hopping, web-swinging Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. 

We decided to do it as a commentary episode, so to get the most out of it feel free to watch along with us! After a short introduction, the discussion starts (and you can start the movie) after the countdown. Obviously, this episode is rather spoiler heavy, and contains some NSFW language. Here's to the next five years!

The elderly at the nursing home have their heads shaved. The protagonist who works there sees them but can't read their expressions. However, from one instance, he finds himself looking closely at their faces.

Jinkyu Jeon

Jinkyu Jeon was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1987. In 2008-2015 he studied animation at the “Korea National University of Arts”. In 2015-2017, he worked as a 2D animator at "Studio Shelter" and in  2019, he worked as a 2D animator at "Workroom Yaha". In 2018-2022, he studied animation at the “Tokyo National University of Arts”.
