I've been playing around with animating particle simulations in Blender's geometry nodes system through audio keyframes.

Diffusion limited aggregation is a simple yet fascinating simulation technique. This animation was simulated with Blender's geometry nodes. A recreation of the dockyards and city of Phobos, as described in the Red Rising Sci-Fi novels by Pierce Brown. Phobos is the larger of the two Mars moons with a diameter of around 20 km. It became the center for trading with Martian resources. Its insides were hollowed out and turned into bustling slums to accommodate the many low-level workers.

The animation was created in Blender, using Geometry Nodes systems, and rendered in Eevee. The video was edited and color graded with Davinci Resolve. The soundtrack and SFX were composed with Ableton.

Showcase screen captures of the Geometry Nodes system I've been working on. It makes it easy to distribute poles on curves or mesh vertices and automatically connects them by sagging cables. You can also use it to draw cables onto walls or ceilings.
