In a cinematic move, Jonathan has decided that he is going to direct Dan's descent further into madness with a mix of pleasure and pain. Many thought it should never happen, but life is fleeting. Tonight, in a Good Movie/Sinister Six New Year's Double Feature are two films, the same story, but vastly different in execution/style.  First on the bill, is a classic with Federico Fellini's sensationalized auto-biographical opus, 8 1/2 (1963). When Guido is at his wits end how will he survive his own multiplicity as director, man, husband, womanizer, and young boy? The women around him are done with these games and a deadline is fast approaching. He can only soft shoe around these issues for so long in this gem of Cinema Italiano. Next, if Dan survives, is the musical adaptation of the same material with Rob Marshall's Nine (2009). Now Jonathan lives for musical theater, and this is one of his favorites, but how when director, actors, production design and more align can this still be considered a Sinister Six pick? What could possibly go wrong? Well, that's show business, kid. You will have to use your own eyes and ears to judge. So, take a seat at the Folies Bergère. Pour yourself a drink. Light a cigarette. Reminisce and Remember, with your sunglasses on in the dead of night.

Ho, Ho My Lads and welcome to another holiday Spectacular on Anime Was (Not) A Mistake! On this heady, decadently delicious episode, everyone is here! Dan, Jonathan, Gabe, Grant and Heather settle in for a pairing of "classic" holiday movies. First, we reach our peak in the Rankin Bass universe with 1977's The Hobbit. When Bilbo Baggins is hired to burgle an immense treasure from a cat-like dragon an iconic adventure beings. Highlights include babysitting bumbling dwarves, soaring on the wings of eagles, slaying spiders, and one magic ring. Gandalf recommends resting where the thrush knocks and not getting trapped in a wine barrel rolling down the river. Next, on the marquee is a return to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971). In hopes of a lifetime supply of chocolate and a magical factory tour five children receive a golden ticket and jump at the chance! Our podcasting family have a lot of opinions on different candies, how much it would actually take us to go on a tour of a factory and what goes into making a "Wonky" bar.  There's no earthly way of knowing, if we are coming or going. All we are certain of is that this is a holiday adventure that you will want to devour, bones and all!

Another Pizza Party Promise is finally fulfilled as Dragon Ball GT comes to the podcast. With a year left until Earth explodes, Goku and his friends resolve to search the universe for the Black Star Dragon Balls. The adventure gets off to a rocky start, however, as Pan launches the spaceship before final preparations can be made. The trio of Goku, Trunks, and Pan are forced to crash land on the planet Imecka. Repairing the ship and escaping proves difficult due to King Don Kee's tyrannical hold over the population. Even worse for our heroes, Don Kee has a particularly powerful warrior named Ledgic on his payroll. The group will have to contend with being Imecka's most wanted criminals while finding a way to set the planet free. And did a small robot just eat the Dragon Radar? What's that about? The darkness surrounding us is something far worse than Daylight Savings Time. The cute and theatrical catwoman Felicia? Or the undead rock star known as Lord Raptor? A pious vampire hunter named Donovan Baine joins the fray as well, determined to rid the world of evil. These are Godless times, loyal listeners! In continuing our annual Spooktober celebration Anime Was (Not) A Mistake gets ready to go to the prom with Brian De Palma's 1976 seminal Stephen King adaptation Carrie. Dan's "dirty pillows" will undoubtedly be on full display, as Jonathan recalls just how those boys could dance...and likes it!!! However, in between buckets of pigs' blood and personal time in the punishment St. Sebastian closet, we have to ask ourselves is this a film of multiple genres? Tragedy? Comedy? Rom-Com? We will all be the judge. Anyways, we should all go hit the showers or else ... they're all gonna laugh at you!

One day, Frank discovers that a series of local murders have a gruesome connection to his past. Even stranger, the perpetrator of these crimes appears to be the Grim Reaper itself! With the town turning against him and the FBI ready to pounce, Frank must finally put his otherworldly abilities to good use.
