18 year old Anne was known as the king's whore and the king's concubine from 1526 onwards. She was not known as the Great Whore till after her death in 1536.

Anne Boleyn was an amazing human being. She was given an education that money could not buy. She was educated to be what she became and that was a thought leader and a conduit for humanism. The Renaissance gave us Michelangelo who painted God in the form of a man. The Renaissance gave us Anne Boleyn who understood what it meant for God to be a man. 

Anne understood the selfish gene in terms of the selfish nature of men and women. She understood selfish is not a dirty word because it is the way we are made. It is not immoral or a sin to be selfish, it is natural. 

Anne was a Christian and so was Henry and selfish had to be balanced with religious ambition and social instinct. Anne was selfish for falling in love with a married man. Henry VIII was selfish for wanting a male heir. Neither was more selfish than when it came to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. 

Selfishness and not love was the relationship between Jesus Christ and the Tudor family of Anne, Henry and Elizabeth 1.

She maintained a human-to-human relationship with Jesus of Nazareth.

You have to feel sorry for Russians. They missed out on the Renaissance and the Reformation and Anne Boleyn.

We will always be asking who was Anne Boleyn? Thomas Cromwell the architect of Anne's downfall created a mess. Anne was found guilty of witchcraft, adultery, incest and treason. Cromwell included in the infamous jury of 26 the father of Anne Boleyn. People were left to doubt Anne's innocence because she was condemned to die by her own father. It makes you think there was some truth to the charges against her.  

Something incredible went down on 15th May 1536. The outcome was that Anne was rubbed out of history and she lost her name. A few days after her portraits and letters and sermons were destroyed and her emblems were removed from royal palaces. Anne could no longer be mentioned by name and was casually referred as the Great Whore.

In May of 1536 Anne Boleyn was a name and a story. A spectacular trial was arranged to help people forget all that she achieved. We remember Anne for scandal. She had a story worth telling but the narrative was changed.

Anne Boleyn was found guilty of witchcraft, adultery, incest, and treason. But in her execution speech Anne did not ask for her sins to be forgiven. No surprise there because in the existential universe there is no such thing as sin and for Anne to have known this is evidence of genius. There were educators in France expecting a lot from Anne Boleyn and she delivered. She freed England from the Catholic Church.  

If there is no such thing as sin, then Jesus Christ did not die for the sins of the world. He did not die for the sins of Vladimir Putin. He is not responsible for the latest Russian delusion, the cult of Putin. Russians murder Ukrainians because they believe in redemption. They have a licence to kill. They are deluded.

Vladimir Putin in 2022 sent me on a journey to find the world's first existentialist. I was interrupted by the BBC in November of 2023 with the broadcasting of "Shakespeare, Rise of a Genius." It was to celebrate 400 years of First Folio, the publication of Shakespeare's plays. I found a theme in the plays which led to Anne Boleyn who was a humanist. In the words of Jean-Paul Sartre, “Existentialism Is a Humanism.” The individual verses the collective is another way of looking at human existence. 

In this episode, we examine the intertwining legacies of Anne Boleyn and William Shakespeare. Bridging Anne and her biographer I found Elizabeth I, the daughter of Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII.

Ann revived the idea started by Jesus of Nazareth. His idea was that God is a man. Or as Anne herself might have said, God is human. 

We explore the pervasive influence of the Russian Orthodox Church in modern Russian society and how it parallels historical suppression of truth by Catholics. Anne Boleyn and Elizabeth 1 hated Catholics. We must be humanist like Anne and Elizabeth and show hate to those who institutionalise delusion.
