Spiritual Communion is available to everyone.

For a brief moment the veil is lifted and we remember who Jesus really is. Let’s make Christ present in our lives, and not be afraid to share Him with others.

For reflection.

There are many titles given to Jesus. Which one resonates with you the most?In a time and age that has grown so secular, what does it mean to be Christian?Can we take Jesus at face value? Is He who He says He is and does He do the things He says He can do?

The demands of what we need to do as a church do not match the level of resources we have to work with. Demographic changes and changes in the broader society will have implications for us as a parish in the next 5, 10, 15 years.

In launching the Living our Faith campaign we are proposing to raise funds over the next three years to help better position the parish to respond to the challenges of the future.

Where do you see the parish in 10 years, in 20 years? What part might you play in that future? Where do we start?

If we have faith without mission, we are isolated from the world around us. If we have mission without faith, we are really nothing more than an NGO. We need both faith and mission.

We all come to faith in different ways. But how are you doing living out this call to mission? With whom have you shared the Gospel lately? How can you be a messenger of God’s hope in the world?

It’s not the action itself but the motivation behind the action, where the Christian’s true identity is found and formed. And that identity is the identity of Jesus Christ. We are called to take upon ourselves the very identity of Jesus Christ.

We are called to be selfless givers just as He was selfless. We are called to be eternal lovers the Father, just as He loved and did the will of His Father. We are called to rejoice in His presence in our families, and in the things we do in His name.

We are called to be the salt of the earth and a light in the world. Salt brings out goodness and light allows us to see.

Developing a more mature spiritual life is to choose the good for the other and to do consistently what God wants us to do.

What is God’s good and what may he be asking of me? How might I shine forth for others?

This weekend, we welcome Deacon Michael Hayes to speak about the Canadian Catholic charity, Chalice.

Jesus made his home in Capernaum so that what had been spoken through the Prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled.
