No effort was made to look down all the dim trails of history, rather Ranger tries to keep it in the here and now. Human and diabolical forces have infiltrated this institution, and yet, in the end, it will be the bride of the risen Lord. So many sojourners are scarred by battle with both the world and this institution that proclaims to be "the Church". "The Church" is covered in the innocent blood of saints if one looks at history. This is not a dive into the depths of history, except to look at how it started; and maybe that is a clue as to what is what was supposed to be.
