Another Dolphins Podcast

After a two-week break, we’re back!

Josh and Jake run through all the news you might’ve missed — including Miami’s decision to cut long snapper Blake Ferguson, claim former Raiders defensive tackle Matthew Butler, and sign veteran cornerback Kendall Sheffield.

While we’ve hit the slowest part of the NFL calendar, there’s still plenty to discuss. We break down emerging position battles at safety, cornerback, and more as we inch closer to training camp.

The Miami Dolphins bolstered their offensive line by drafting Arizona’s Jonah Savaiinaea in the second round—but it came at a steep cost.

While Miami got their guy, how should we feel about trading picks 48, 98, and 135 to move up for picks 37 and 143 overall?

The Miami Dolphins addressed two major needs early, selecting a defensive tackle and then an offensive lineman in the first two rounds. However, after moving around the draft board, they ended up without picks in rounds three and four.

They didn’t fill every roster hole, so how should we really feel about GM Chris Grier’s approach during the 2025 NFL Draft?

The pick is in — the Miami Dolphins have selected Kenneth Grant with the No. 13 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. We break down Miami’s thought process, how Grant fits into Anthony Weaver’s scheme, and what to expect from him in Year 1.

Pressure is building for the Dolphins, and general manager Chris Grier did little to suggest the team is on the right track during last week's press conference. From calling Tyreek Hill a captain to his broader outlook on the roster, Grier didn’t offer much confidence to fans—especially for someone who’s been in the front office for nearly a decade.

Also joining the show is Eric Smith (@OLCoachSmith63), contributor for 5 Reasons Sports, to share his final thoughts on the 2025 offensive line draft class. He highlights some late-round sleepers Miami could target, along with a few top prospects who might not be the best fit in South Florida. Check out Eric's video breakdowns here.

What will it cost the Dolphins to trade Jalen Ramsey?

The Dolphins and Jalen Ramsey have agreed to part ways, and a draft-day trade feels inevitable. From void years to the All-Pro’s future beyond 2025—what can Miami realistically expect in return for one of the league’s top cornerbacks?

The Dolphins face a unique challenge on defense: a deep group of linebackers, but limited help elsewhere. With a Jalen Ramsey trade expected, cornerback becomes a concern—and Miami will roll out two new starting safeties next season.

And that’s before we even get to arguably the league’s thinnest defensive tackle group. Are ten draft picks enough to stabilize this many roster flaws?

The Dolphins are one of just three teams investing over $50 million per year in a pair of wide receivers. Jaylen Waddle’s future in Miami is locked in—but Tyreek Hill’s isn’t quite as certain.

We discuss whether the Dolphins should target a wide receiver early in the draft, regardless of what’s next for Hill.

The 2025 NFL Draft is quickly approaching and the Miami Dolphins need to develop a sound gameplan. With little room for error entering a must-win season, Miami must implement a targeted, realistic strategy to elevate its roster in next week's draft.

In this episode, we focus on the offensive side of the ball—pinpointing where improvements are necessary while identifying positions that could take a backseat when solidifying the roster.
