Another Dolphins Podcast

Raheem Mostert set the standard at running back for the Miami Dolphins and was awarded with a contract extension for his efforts. The 2023 league-leader in rushing touchdowns will stick in Miami through the 2025 season.

Formerly known as an “injury-prone” running back due to playing double-digit games just twice in five years — he’s missed just three regular-season games since returning to Miami. Mike McDaniel has re-established a threatening rushing attack with Mostert responsible for leading the charge.

From dynasty to re-draft, we explore what to expect from Mostert in 2024 and beyond. Also -- somehow -- news dropped right before we record and discuss Miami's decision to re-sign tackle Kendall Lamm to a one-year deal.

Edge rusher is arguably the strongest position on the Miami Dolphins depth chart. Still, the equation changes when considering the season-ending injuries Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips suffered late in the 2023 NFL season. The Dolphins added Shaq Barrett on a one-year deal, but is it enough to keep the ship from sinking before Chubb and Phillips can return?

Three edge players are considered as top 20 picks in the 2024 NFL Draft — Dallas Turner, Jared Verse, and Laiatu Latu. Would it be wise for general manager Chris Grier to keep investing in the unit if one of these players fell? We discuss!

The NFL has announced that it's changing the kickoff rules ahead of the 2024 season in hopes of creating more opportunities to create excitement with more frequent kick returns. Owners passed the revamped format in a 29-3 vote.

We spent some time discussing the rule, and how Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier was one of the eight-member committee that suggested the rule. Considering Miami's speed — is special teams an area Miami can go from worst to first?

The Miami Dolphins have to be wise with its final $10 million in salary cap space because there are clear holes on the roster. Odell Beckham Jr. met with the Dolphins late last week, but a deal is yet to be announced. Beckham would supercharge Miami’s receiving group, but it’s important to remember that the Dolphins are limited due to salary cap space and few draft picks.

Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier didn't have an easy job this offseason. The franchise entered the overseason nearly $50 million over the salary cap and more than half the roster was set to reach free agency. That said, Grier has navigated the storm with restructures and a roster purge, but there is still work that must be done.

The Dolphins have just $10 million in salary cap space until June but the roster could still use work ahead of April's draft. Miami is pinching pennies, but here are some players that could make an impact at a discounted price.

Odell Beckham Jr. visited the Miami Dolphins on Thursday — what could this mean for the rest of the receivers? Miami's offense struggled down the stretch and injuries to both Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle played a role.

The addition of OBJ would be another spark to the high-powered unit, but is it the best way to maximize the team's late-season potential?

Wide receiver is one of the deeper draft classes of 2024 — could Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier find himself adding to a core that already features Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill?

We run through some of college's top prospects and highlight a handful of players that could haunt the AFC East for years to come. Despite having just two picks in the top four rounds, is it possible that Miami chooses a wide receiver with a top-two pick?

Of course, adding Odell Beckham Jr. to the mix could change Miami's draft plans, too.

Braxton Berrios is set to return as Miami's kick and punt returner after agreeing to a one-year deal to re-sign with the franchise. With both Cedrick Wilson Jr. and River Cracraft free agents, could Berrios have an expanded role on offense after just 27 receptions and one receiving touchdown last season?

Roughly ten former Miami Dolphins have signed with new a franchise since free agency began last week. On top of that, another dozen-plus players are free agents plotting their next move.

General manager Chris Grier's aggressive approach to the early days of free agency has Miami nearly primed to attack the draft with a "best player available" mindset. The Dolphins added more than ten players since the new year began and the offensive line remains a glaring weakness — but is anyone really surprised?

We also discuss Miami's decision to re-sign Braxton Berrios and what's next for the team's depth at wide receive No. 3.
