Tenessee's pass defense is No. 22 in the NFL, opening the door for another big game by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and wide receiver Tyreek Hill. The Titans have lost four of five games and will be without All-Pro Jeffrey Simmons. Miami's offense ranks No. 1 in pass offense and No. 2 in run offense — how much closer can Hill get to 2,000 receiving yards?
The Dolphins are working De'Von Achane back into the mix, who is just one of four players with nine touchdowns in the first six career games. Miami looks ready for its late-season run — will it push closer to a first-round bye with a fourth-straight win?

Monday night's matchup against the Tennesse Titans could mark the fifth straight game the Miami Dolphins play with a different offensive line combination. Right guard Robert Hunt has already been ruled out of the game due to a hamstring injury. Left tackle Terron Armstead, meanwhile, was limited in practice back-to-back days with ankle and knee injuries.
Defensively, Jevon Holland continues recovering from knee injuries he suffered in the Black Friday win over the New York Jets. Vic Fangio praised Brandon Jones for stepping up in Holland's place, but will he step in to start for another week?

The Buffalo Bills have lost three of the last five games, but Sunday's win over Kansas City has them back over .500 and in the playoff race with four games left in the regular season.
Buffalo plays against the Cowboys, Chargers, and Patriots before ending the regular season against the Dolphins — would you have been happier if the Bills fell out of the playoff race instead of Miami moving closer to the top seed in the playoff race?

The Miami Dolphins and right tackle Austin Jackson agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension worth up to $39 million on Thursday. Cat joins the show to discuss the decision to sign Jackson to a new deal after exceeding expectations throughout his fourth NFL season.
With Jackson under contract, Christian Wilkins, Robert Hunt, Connor Williams, and Andrew Van Ginkel remain as soon-to-be free agents — can Chris Grier extend any other players before the season ends?
We also run through the must-see matchups this weekend and decode our rooting interests as Dolphins fans. (........ Go Bills..............)
Josh and I will drop a preview podcast over the weekend, but I had to pull him and Marek back into the studio to give a 20-minute recap of Hard Knocks, which you can find as a bonus at the end of this episode.

The Miami Dolphins entered the 2023 season with plenty of top-end talent on both sides of the football. However, it doesn't take long to realize just how long the season is — and how many players are needed to succeed on the football field. The Dolphins sit at 9-3 with four of the final five games at home despite battling injuries to the offensive line, pass rush, and secondary throughout the season.
When the season's 'script' leaked, was anyone banging the table for Andrew Van Ginkel's impact as a pass rusher? Were opposing defenses ready to slow down not only Raheem Mostert, but also De'Von Achane — arguably the league's most explosive running back. NOBODY — AND I MEAN NOBODY — expected Miami's offensive line to be third in sacks allowed per game.
Who else deserves flowers before the season ends?

The Miami Dolphins have started eight offensive line combinations this year and yet rank third in the NFL with an average of 1.5 sacks allowed per game this season. Considering injuries to Teron Armstead, Robert Hunt, Isaiah Wyan, and Connor Williams — four of the team's five starting offensive linemen — the unit's sustained success is hard to ignore.
Miami's offensive line didn't just struggle in past years, it was one of the league's worst units. Coach Mike McDaniel, offensive coordinator Frank Smith, and offensive line coach Butch Barry wasted little time turning things around. From top-to-bottom, Miami's offensive line has held through 12 games.
It was apparent that Miami had top-end talent entering the season, but unexpected stars are pushing this team toward the top of the playoff race.

Miami entered the year with Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. expected to be the team's top two running backs entering the 2023 season. That said, it didn't take long for De'Von Achane to run through and steal the show, despite limited playing time. the former Texas A&M running back averages 9.5 yards on 56 carries through six games for 534 yards and seven touchdowns.
Achane was targetted four times against the Commanders and it could be argued that yards we left on the field. Miami as one of the league's top receivers in Tyreek Hill — could coach Mike McDaniel be molding Achane to follow in his footsteps?

Miami's pass rush has battled injuries through the season's first three months, but Andrew Van Ginkel has been a consistent force up front through 12 games. With four sacks, five runs stuffs, and 29 total tackles, he's consistently disrupted opposing offensive lines — on top of a pick-6 and six passes defended so far this season.
Despite injuries, Miami defensive coordinator Vic Fangio leverages Van Ginkel's versatility in coverage and rushing the passer. The Dolphins entered the year with a fierce pass rush, but not many expected Van Ginkel to be fifth on the team in sacks.

It took the Miami Dolphins three plays to go 80-plus plays and score on the offense's opening drive — that's where we begin the podcast. Tua Tagovailoa connected with Tyreek Hill for two 60-plus touchdown passes in the first half of Sunday's game. Washington's defense had virtually no answers for Hill, who needs just over 500 receiving yards to pass 2,000 on the season.
The Dolphins lost Jaelan Phillips for the year, but Andrew Van Ginkel — with a first-quarter pick-6 — and Emmanuel Ogbah kept Miami's defense humming for a third-straight week of allowing less than 20 points. Vic Fangio's unit continues improving, and we also note an interesting player workout the Dolphins plan on working out later this week.
We wrap the show by embracing that, at least for now, YOUR Miami Dolphins are the top seed in the AFC.
