Roger and Mike talk Senate races, election fraud lies, bad polling, and partying with married mistresses and fugitives from justice in Dubai. Plus Rog is abnormally cheesed about Hirocheeto's blatant treasonous behavior. We even break down exactly how much the orange one has enriched himself at our collective expense.
The boys dive deeply into misplaced blame over everything from the price of diesel to rising inflation to why some Obamacare users got a check in the mail. There's nonsense involving urban transit funding and a very somber anniversary in Israel. Lastly, Mike takes a look at some fun word origins. Bottoms up, everybody!
The guys look at the latest misuse and reappropriation of our taxpayer dollars, at Dr. Oz hanging with rapists, the difference between Iowa and Atlanta, and how the most blatant misdeeds won't prompt republican officials to grow a pair. Plus Mike reminds liberals to keep their Eyes on the Prize.
The administration is determined to kick another million people off their Affordable Care Act health insurance, and at the same time they want to continue axing the research that might cure cancer or heart disease or infectious viruses. Hey, don't sweat it, high prices for gas, groceries, and rent are a hoax, and if they have their way, you won't get to vote anyway. Roger and Mike break down these stories and more news you should know.
The boys talk about the mail-in ballot slapdown (for now), the Kennedy Center, the War, and that dipshit racist running for office in Texas. Which one, you ask? Fair enough. Plus lots more of the week's political news.
There was an AI breach that should scare us all shitless. And if that's not enough, the n*zi wannabes won a big election in Germany. What could possibly go wrong?!? Rog and Mike have the lowdown on these stories and much more on this week's AFM.
Yes, the administration outdoes itself from week to week with new stupidity. The pointless war has now increased bond prices & government debt worldwide, meaning prices of everything will be going up, up up. But don't fret, they still have time to fire all the generals, disenfranchise millions of voters, cut down trees, ignore court rulings, lie about everything, and ...whew! It's enough to make a guy want to get stuck in a bathtub.
More of these pointless cuts are coming home to roost, and the boys hope against hope that the administration has reached a tipping point in pissing off their own supporters. Plus Roger and Mike stand up for the men and women of the US military. Lord knows the Pentagon isn't.
The hypocrisy and corruption from the administration continues to reach new heights, or low, even though we always think that's impossible. This week Rog and Mike point out that the actual party praising communists and embracing Muslims are the republicans, even while that sophomoric name calling has become the official party platform. There are also the chickens coming home to roost after cuts at the FDA, and forest fires worse than ever after, you guessed it, they cut money and fired firefighters. It's indeed Another Fine Mess.
So much in the news to piss the boys off this week. The criminal administration wants to end many time-proven vaccines, eliminate all Muslims and Hindus, deny basic historical fact, and offer their version of thoughts and prayers to help Americans struggling financially. Of course, when the prez says "affordability" is a made up "Democrat" word, would you expect anything less? But it's all rosy to them because he's dropped a billion taxpayer bucks gold plating venerable bronze statues and the in-laws just bought the Lakers and EA Madden. Can a tiny, computerized Hirocheeto in the stands be far behind?

Another Fine Mess is not just another politics and news podcast. Hosts Roger Gray and Mike Vance were afternoon drive talk radio partners back at the start of the century. They amused Houston audiences with not only political talk but entertainment, books, sports and humor. Lots of humor. That's because, while Roger has a half century of traveling the world doing news, Mike was a professional stand-up comedian and fronted an original country music band for two decades. They went their separate ways for a bit, but could not abide the idea of today's mess of a world going unchallenged. They're doing just that each week in Another Fine Mess! You can expect to hear a little of that entertainment, sports and history talk, too. Learn something, and do it with a smile.
Mike Vance is the author of fifteen non-fiction books on Texas history, sports, and comedy, and four historical fiction novels. Mike also writes and hosts the irreverent history podcast Prick the Balloon. He has written, produced and directed eight feature length Texas history documentaries and over 150 short educational Texas history films. Before his writing career, Vance spent 20 years as a professional stand-up comedian and musician before working on-air in radio and television. Mike has taught Texas history at Rice University’s Glasscock School of Continuing Studies for more than a decade.
Roger Gray has toiled at the journalism trade since 1970 and his first radio news job at KTRH in Houston. Over those woefully misspent years, he has worked in radio, TV and written for magazines. He was twice elected President of the Texas Automobile Writers Association and was elected to the Texas Radio Hall of Fame. He covered the first Persian Gulf War, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the reunification of Germany, Oslo Accords in Israel and peace talks in Ireland. He interviewed writers, actors, politicians and every President from Ford to George W, and none of them remember him.
Now, he is part of the Texas Outlaw Writers, and if this doesn't pan out, the outlaw part will still work as he will indeed resort to robbing banks.
