We have made it to episode five of our heavy metal podcast without any serious bloodshed, bomb threats, or pregnancy scares, which I have to say is nothing short of a miracle (have you seen my less-than-disciplined review 'schedule'?). This one really does add some merit to our 'heavy metal from across the globe' tagline; we've got bands stretching from Portland to New Zealand, Croatia to Chile, Scotland to Costa Rica, and many more. It also stretches the genre gamut as well, with death, hardcore, doom, and some ample weirdness (I did mention Portland, right?). So buckle down, turn it up, and get some heavy metal culture in that brain!
As usual, don't forget to check out the playlist on the site for links to all the bands featured; they all have new releases to dig into and can be followed via social media. This is also technically our first episode as a listener supported podcast, as AMP is now part of the Patreon crowdfunding platform. I highly encourage listeners to check out the campaign; it has some cool incentives like early access to each episode, a curated rundown of handpicked metal releases for the month ahead, and even the opportunity to pick which bands make second appearances with more songs on future episodes. With enough support we can even make longer and more frequent episodes, bringing everyone even more new heavy metal from the many corners of the world, so big hails to everyone that decides to chip in for the effort, it is much appreciated.
