  • Staying Embodied in Transitional Spaces

    Send us Fan Mail

On this episode of the Another Way To See It podcast, we talk about the importance of being fully present during transitional moments in our daily lives. These moments between work and home, or between daily tasks can be a time to ground and reconnect with our bodies. Life can be fast paced and often our minds are three steps ahead. Transitional spaces can provide our bodies a chance to catch up with our minds. These spaces can also be places in which we leak energy. If we begin to bring our conscious awareness to these times throughout our day we can claim our time back, soothe our nervous systems, and bring our full presence to whatever we are doing.

  • Another Way To See It with Dr. Danielle Alexander

    Send us Fan Mail

On this episode of the Another Way To See It podcast, we talk with Dr. Danielle Alaxander about her experience following the call of Soul. Danielle is a light-hearted introvert with a passion for exploring the mysteries of the unconscious psyche, particularly the somatic unconscious. As a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and Doctor of Physical Therapy, Danielle helps individuals attune to their bodies' unspoken voice, guiding them through challenging transitions and the integration of past traumatic experiences. Danielle helps others navigate the transition from fixity to flow and connection.

With a Master's degree in Depth Psychology emphasizing Jungian and Archetypal studies, Danielle is currently writing a Ph.D. dissertation on the intersection of archetypal psychology, alchemy, and chronic illness. She is also in training to become a Jungian analyst at the C.G. Jung Institute of New England.

Finally, Danielle is dedicated to exploring and undoing of the rational gaps we have placed between science and the sacred, the inner and outer, and the mind and body.

  • Importance of Ritual in Grief Work

    Send us Fan Mail

On this episode of The Another Way To See It podcast, we complete our intense exploration of grief, by discussing the ways ritual is an essential element in grief tending. Ritual, Francis says, “provides the elements necessary to help transform whatever it is we are carrying in our psyches.”

We have been using Francis Weller’s book- The Wild Edge of Sorrow: Rituals of Renewal and the Sacred Work of Grief, as a jumping off point and guide to this exploration, we have gone through the five gates that Francis has written about and are on our own for the discussion of further potential gates. We acknowledge that there are many many ways to name, explore,  experience, and tend grief. Francis has given context, language, and probably most importantly the permission and invitation that we must befriend our grief, bring it close, and offer the care and compassion sorely missing from our modern society.

Francis Weller is a psychotherapist, writer, and soul activist. We highly recommend that you find a copy of this book that you can write in because it is such a valuable resource for the inevitable encounters that we all have or will have with grief.

  • Tending grief, Gate 6: The Grief of Harms Caused

    Send us Fan Mail

On this episode of The Another Way To See It podcast, we continue our discussion of grief by addressing other possible gates of grief. Today we talk about a proposed 6th gate, brought forth by writer, artist, death worker, Rachael Rice. The sixth gate is called For Harm Done (that cannot be undone). Rachael says “the sixth gate includes the ways we avoidably and unavoidably collude with systems of harm, for moral injuries, for bystanding or freezing during abuse, for accidents and ignorance, for leveraging supremacies like whiteness as a vector of harm, and for just trying to exist and thrive in a war-hungry, deeply shitty culture with the most aggressively remedial world view on earth.”
