  • Ep. 652 - Extraordinary Awakenings: When Trauma Leads to Transformation | Steve Taylor
11-22-21 Allen Cardoza Interviews Steve Taylor
    http://answers.network
    http://www.www.StevenMTaylor.com

Why do some people who experience the worst that life has to offer respond not by breaking down but by shifting up, into a higher-functioning, awakened state? And perhaps more importantly, how can we emulate their transformations?

Over many years of observing and studying the phenomenon of life-changing awakening through extreme suffering, psychologist Steve Taylor coined the term “transformation through turmoil (TTT).” He calls individuals whose struggles lead to a dramatic shift into a new, expansive identity - “shifters”. In his new book, Extraordinary Awakenings: When Trauma Leads to Transformation, he shares dozens of amazing stories of individuals who “woke up” to profound transformation following bereavement, deep depression, suicide attempts, addiction, military combat, imprisonment, or other intense encounters with mortality.

“It is tremendously moving to hear accounts from people who have been to the furthest extremes of loss and suffering, who have faced the most desperate and desolate predicaments that human beings can possibly experience,” writes Taylor.

Along with the amazing stories of “shifters” he shares throughout the book, Taylor uncovers the psychological processes that help explain these miraculous awakenings. Join us as Taylor highlights a number of lessons and guidelines that offer readers hope and guidance to call on during their own struggles.

  • Ep. 648 - Holistic Medicine and the Extracelluar Matrix: The Science of Healing at the Cellular Level
10-25-21 Allen Cardoza Interviews Matthew Wood

    http://answers.network
    https://www.matthewwoodinstituteofherbalism.com

The cells in our bodies are not independent units. They are controlled by signals from the extracellular matrix (ECM) that surrounds them. This all-encompassing inner ocean unifies all our cells and controls them in a coordinated and integrated fashion.

Matthew Wood’s new book, How the Extracellular Matrix Unifies and Controls Health in Holistic Treatment reveals the stunning implications of the extracellular matrix. Wood shows how it clearly explains the actions and efficacy of holistic therapies. He explores the ground-breaking research of Alfred Pischinger, who discovered the ECM in 1975, as well as the role of the matrix in transmitting and enacting the genetic code, including the roles of the mitochondria, the nucleus, and ribosomes.

Wood explores how the matrix builds and repairs itself and investigates the complex processes and components involved in the self-healing of wounds and traumas. He also explains how modern drugs, directed at specific receptors on the cell membrane, interfere with bodily self-regulation.

Don’t miss this amazing interview in which Matthew sheds new light on time-old wisdom in which many holistic practitioners had already intuited the existence of the extracellular matrix, as well as how holistic therapies, past and present, modify the environment of the cell and strengthen the whole, bringing the body back to homeostasis and consequently offering true healing.

  • Ep. 645 - The Luminous Landscape of the Afterlife | Matthew McKay, Ph.D.
9-27-21 Allen Cardoza Interviews Matthew McKay, Ph.D.
    http://answers.network
    https://www.seekingjordan.com

There is no better source of information on death and the afterlife than someone who has died and lives in spirit. Jordan, deceased son of Matthew McKay, has channeled to his father a post-death guide and roadmap for the afterlife. In McKay's new book, The Luminous Landscape of the Afterlife, he tell us that the structure and mores of the afterlife are confusing. We arrive without our senses, a nervous system, and all that has anchored us to the world. We find ourselves in a place where a thought, a mere idea, projects images that can capture and overwhelm us. We "see" in all directions; we move by intention rather than physically walking; we hear telepathically rather than listening to sound and words; we connect through the medium of love rather than touching or holding or conversing.

This book was created to offer insight into how, after having been separated from our body, we need to remember who we are, where we are going, and how to get there. Things you will also learn is what every soul needs to know about why we are here on this earth, what to expect at death and transition, how to navigate without a body, and what is our work in the spirit world. Best of all join us as we explore the process anyone can do to communicate with loved ones on the other side.

  • Ep. 644 - The Day the World Stops Shopping: How Ending Consumerism Saves the Environment
9-20-21 Allen Cardoza Interviews J.B. Mackinnon
    http://answers.network
    https://www.jbmackinnon.com

Consuming less is our gest strategy for saving the planet—but can we do it? In this surprisingly optimistic book, author J.B. Mackinnon investigates how we can achieve a world beyond consumerism.

We can’t stop shopping. And yet we must. This is the consumer dilemma.  Addressing this paradox head-on, acclaimed journalist J.B. MacKinnon asks, “What would really happen if we simply stopped shopping? Is there a way to reduce our consumption to earth-saving levels without triggering economic collapse?” At first, this question took him around the world, seeking answers from America’s big-box stores to the hunter-gatherer cultures of Namibia to communities in Ecuador that consume at an exactly sustainable rate. Then the thought experiment came shockingly true: the coronavirus brought shopping to a halt, and MacKinnon’s ideas were tested in real-time.

Drawing from experts in fields ranging from climate change to economics, MacKinnon investigates how living with less would change our planet, our society, and ourselves. Along the way, he reveals just how much we stand to gain: An investment in our physical and emotional wellness. The pleasure of caring for our possessions. Closer relationships with our natural world and one another. Imaginative and inspiring, The Day the World Stops Shopping will embolden you to envision another way.
