  • The Gospel of John: Betrayal

The gospel informs our response to betrayal, even at the hands of our closest friends or against the people we love most. In John 18:1-14, we see how Jesus Himself responds to both the betrayer and the betrayed. Yesterday, Matt Dennings spoke on how God’s complete justice meets His lavish mercy at the cross.

  • The Gospel of John: The Secret To Being In Harmony With God and Others

In Jesus’ High Priestly Prayer, we see God’s desire for His people to be unified. As a choir sings in harmony under the leadership of a conductor, so we, as the church, can sing God’s song in unity with one another and under submission to the Lord’s leadership. Yesterday, Nick Sweerin taught through John 17:20-26 on how to live harmoniously in the relationships God has called us to so that we may be one as Christ prays for us to be.

When difficult times hit, we often distract, distance ourselves, and desensitize ourselves from our pain. This runs counter to the way of Jesus, who calls us to pursue a lasting joy amid suffering. Yesterday, Brandon Moore walked through John 16:4b-33 on embracing death as gain as we suffer well in light of eternity.

  • The Gospel of John: Abide (Part 2): Speak

We are not placed in our workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, or cities by accident. What if speaking the truths of the Gospel had the potential to gain not only the souls of those around us, but also our own? Yesterday, Matt Dennings walked through John 15:18-16:4 on speaking by the Spirit as we bear witness to Christ.

  • The Gospel of John: Abide (Part 1)

When we attach ourselves to counterfeit sources of life, we find ourselves sapped of spiritual vitality and separated from God. When we abide in Christ, we live lives of eternal significance, producing spiritual fruit as we are cared for and pruned by a loving Father. Matt Dennings walks through John 15:1-17 on how and why we abide in Christ.
