When Jesus washed His disciples’ feet in John 13 He foreshadowed the cleansing His death would accomplish for us and gave us a supreme example of how we are to love one another.

For Easter 2020 we look at the wonderful resurrection story of a man named Lazarus in John 11:1-44. Through the miracle of the resurrection of Lazarus, Jesus reveals a God who is both outraged at a broken world and who also weeps with us in our suffering. But the ultimate victory is still found in the resurrection of Jesus at Easter.

For Palm Sunday we continue our Gospel According to John series in chapter 10:22-42. In the passage Jesus reveals the full mystery of the Triune God; One God in three distinct persons, and in doing so gives us unshakable security that He is the God of the universe holding our salvation in His gracious hands.

As we continue our series in the Gospel According to John we learn that Jesus is the Good Shepherd, who knows us, His sheep, and calls us each individually by name. But His greatest love is shown in the deliberate laying down of His life for us.

In our continued series in the Gospel According to John, we come to a story in chapter 9 where Jesus heals a man born blind from birth. But in the ensuing discussion, we learn that spiritual blindness is a deeper problem we all have, and Jesus is the only one who can bring us true sight.

In John 8:12-38 Jesus reveals that He is the light of the world, the truth in our darkness. We, however, are enslaved to sin, and in this famous passage Jesus claims that He alone can set us free.

In John chapter 7 Jesus has several encounters with various groups of people. Through His interactions, we see that in His ministry and for His followers today Jesus often causes division between our families, the powerful, and the common people. Yet, in the words of one of His opponents, "No one ever spoke like this man!"
