For this episode of The All-Around Adventure Podcast, I'm joined by Naval officer, Anthony Waite.

Along with being a career Navy man. Anthony is also a speaker, trainer, and coach who specializes in high-performance leadership and development. To many people, Anthony has been viewed as a man who has it all figured out and was groomed for success his whole life. However, this couldn't be further from the truth. Anthony grew up in poverty, he didn't excel in school, he was in and out of different homes, and he was told by many Naval leaders that he'd never amount to anything. Though instead of listening to the naysayers and dwelling on his upbringing. Anthony sought out solid leaders and mentors and took whatever opportunity that he could to better himself and further his career in the Navy.

Anthony now serves as an officer and seeks to take what he's learned to coach and lead others. All while going by his philosophy: “A position doesn’t make the leader, it merely reveals their discipline to cultivate the character necessary to lead by example.” In this episode, Anthony tells us more of his story. Starting with the trouble that he faced in his youth, making the transition to the military, where he's deployed to, and becoming an officer and a leader. We also discuss leadership strategies and tactics that can be implemented in any area of life and how to lead from the front!
