For this episode of The All-Around Adventure Podcast, I'm joined by podcaster, writer, and archaeologist, Lauren Coontz.
Lauren's tenure as an archaeologist began when she found her way to South America to attend field school. During which she analyzed artifacts and human remains that were recovered from the Peruvian Andes. She also served in the Army and received her SCUBA diving certification while she was stationed in South Korea. Following her enlistment in the Army, she and I ended up working at the same cultural resource management company for a time. Now she hosts her own podcast, titled The Nauti Archaeologist, where she talks about different shipwrecks around the world and their cultural and historical significance.
In this episode, Lauren tells us about her time in the Army and what led her to become an archaeologist. She also talks about some of the shipwrecks that she's studied for her podcast. Furthermore, we have a fun discussion on maritime myths and legends and the mysteries that lay beneath the vast waters that cover our world!

Life never gets easier, you only become stronger. Just as long as you keep going and put one foot in front of the other. I was reminded of this lesson during my hike across the entire state of Michigan. And I feel that it applies to any other journey in life. In this solocast, I discuss the strength that you gain with each step during your own journey.

“Out of every one hundred men, ten shouldn’t even be there, eighty are just targets, nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back.” ~ Heraclitus. In this solocast, I talk about what I think it means to have the mindset of a warrior, rather than the mindset of a fighter.
