Hi everyone! We've been MIA for quite a while due to significant technical issues. Our deepest apologies! But we never stopped recording and so, despite many technical issues as well as some sound issues, we're going to get caught back up.

Welcome! Thanks for joining us. Here's a little information on AnthroLore is about and Anthropology in general. We're glad you're here!

The gang is back with new faces and new stories for the Fall semester, 2023! Today we're getting into the groove again with stories about Magic and Witchcraft. We've got a particularly spirit-minded group this semester so stay tuned for some more fun with us.

Please note, the sound quality isn't the best on this issue since we have new people running tech this time. It will improve as we go this semester but thank you for your support.

Today we dive deep into our fascination about dragons and serpents in different myths, legends, and folklore. We talk about various serpents portrayed in pop cultures and worldwide and how they relate to some origin stories.  Also sorry about the beginning we had a little mishap with the audio. :)

Our aspiring anthropologists come together to discuss their favorite urban legends with the research they found.

Aspiring anthropologists talk about Disney's Ariel and her surrounding controversy along with other mermaids from different cultures to see how different cultures' mermaids are from each other. The speakers also tune into a first-hand account story of someone that has had an interaction with a mermaid and discuss what happened to them and what made the account so mystical or rather scary.
