On this week’s headline podcast, we talk about what is holding back the tide of evil in this overtly evil age. Did you ever stop to think about what God allows – and disallows? The dramatic events surrounding the FlyDubai flight of September 30 drove this home in that God really did do a miracle for those passengers, a full flight of Israelis, many of them flying to Israel to celebrate the feast of Tabernacles. So what kind of evil will be unleashed once the church is gone? Who is the Restrainer spoken of by Paul, and is there a connection between the two?  The church cannot agree, as usual, but there really is only one answer and it’s not some vague random power. We talk about antisemitism, Christianity being marginalized, and the comfort we can have when we realize that God is truly on the throne, involved in the affairs of men, and that the book of Revelation should inspire worship above all. A full hour looking at today, the only day we really have to do the work of God while we still can. Darkness is descending.

On this edition of SUFTT, Tim and Mary look at the fall of the Judeo/Christian worldview and what is replacing it. Having built the west with its era of personal freedoms and democracy, today’s world is looking far less like what we have known and much more like pending tyranny. Islam, Marxism, climate theology and more all point to a completely new world order fit for Antichrist. In fact, Romans 1 also points to this transition clearly. We talk about Britain’s massive fall; the differences in worldviews; euthanasia laws coming online in various places. In the children’s nursery rhyme, “Humpty Dumpty”, we get the pithy inference that some things simply cannot be reversed, cannot be put back together and reach the point of no return. In Christianity, this hints directly at a time of judgment – after which all things are set aright, made new. Come Lord Jesus.

While it’s kind of fun to think that biting mosquitoes might be vanquished once and for all, global realities set in whether before, during, or after vacations. Ai, for instance, is facing a backlash – or a “hate wave” as people come out against data centers take too much power and oligarchs who have too much power to change the world. Humans being what we are aren’t ready to be superseded by machines, and it’s not a matter of just waiting it out. We also look at protests in Paris all in the name of a sporting victory – which we all know is just another occasion for immigrants to loot and plunder. How is it that Europeans have sold their birthright so easily? All that and more in this installment of headlines, SUFTT style.

Her definitive book is “Social Justice and the Deification of Man: What You Need to Know When Talking to the Christian Left”. Today we take apart what seemed to be just another way “to do church” in the early part of this century and drag it over to it’s logical conclusion: the deification of man. While that might sound dramatic, it is absolutely what is and always was behind the door of the emergent church/emergence theology that dared to attempt to do plastic surgery on the bride of Christ by denying the need for the atonement, rethinking the gospel, and placing all power and authority for the end game of earth on man. Even though the Bible teaches something apocalyptically different, the doesn’t stop man from thinking that sin is merely all the ways society has let us down. How can Christians better respond to the left on this? Perhaps making fun of the No Kings approach isn’t the most helpful and yet it’s hard not to take that route. A thoughtful hour with an expert on the social justice end game.

But behind those still, is the war that goes on for the souls of men; worldview wars, ideological wars, truth wars. In the end, it’s all about humanity. The rest is just maneuvering humans to accept lies. Today we talk about the narco-terror war that is going on in South America and has yet to reach media saturation; the week of weather that was far more bizarre than we realize; outlawing “Islamophobia”; and Mamdani’s latest mischief. Finally, a bit of tech news, as Ai marches on.

The world is so dark, prophecy is so beckoning, that we have to begin to at least realize we are ending one day, the day of man, and about to enter The Day. And we see it approaching. We talk to John about the latest on Iran, Israel, and so many kodak moments in between that those who are truly awake are catching and analyzing. Pretty soon prophecy may be all we have left to point to the obvious; persecution will ramp up and Israel will face harder times than they ever have. Tim and Mary take on another news cycle, once again we see the shadows of the longest hatred: antisemitism. It is not going to improve but rather those with a demonic agenda will continue to take things to a very dark place, inviting judgment. As we saw with Covid, humans are deeply affected by suggestion, as long as it is accompanied by significant fear and threats. It is no different than antisemitism in a strange way – if people are told that the Jews are despicable and not to go near them, they will program their activities and lives to live that out. As another example, in some circles, a person can’t even name Trump without becoming deranged or acting violently and irrationally.  We are in that era of strong delusion and deception. We talk about Canada and their inability to reign that hatred in. We also talk about Islam which is never going to reign their hatred in. The world hates the light because their deeds are evil, how much brighter should we shine.

Mary welcomes back Pastor Andy Woods for another engaging conversation about things we need to stay on top of: first up is antisemitism. As shocked as we all were with the university protests back in 2023/24, now that those have faded from the headlines, now what? That is the challenge for us all because antisemitism continues to ramp up and if we go numb to it, we are missing a key element in making sure the perpetrators are held accountable. We also look at Jared Kushner’s Gaza plan, part of the Peace Board. So many moving parts here, but rebuilding Gaza is the number 1 goal and it might not take as long as people might think. Also on the agenda: military buildup near Iran; Noah Harari’s somewhat unhinged comments about religion and sacred texts. You cannot make this stuff up but existential types like him have no problem translating our world into an Ai dystopian-antichrist friendly-transhuman-God hating-nightmare. Lots of insights from the very sharp Andy Woods. Sugarland Bible Church will host their 5th annual Prophecy Conference February 20 and 21st.
