Anticipatory grief refers to a feeling of grief occurring before an impending loss. Typically, the impending loss is the death of someone close due to illness. But it can also happen when your parent is an addict or you’ve lost touch with them at a young age and you grieve the relationship.

This week we talk about:

  • Our own experiences of anticipatory grief with both of our mum’s having a terminal diagnosis and with Kat’s Dads’ diagnosis
  • The difficult feelings of relief once someone is no longer in pain
  • How no one sat down and told us about anticipatory grief and what these feelings were
  • The link between grief and mental health
  • How it’s very different from anticipating a death to experiencing one

We hope you enjoy this week’s episode! But if you do have any further questions on the topic just drop us an email or message us using the details below.
