In connection with her vampire short ‘shemortelle’, https://soundcloud.com/shelbatrajashari organised a happening in nadine. She invited some friends, collaborators, and dj’s for an evening with live performances. A celebration of the collective ritual and ‘raving’ as a sacred form of soul-searching.

résonnent le sang et la vie

La fenêtre donne sur toujours

Il y avait sept petites personnes

qui rentraient du boulot

Elles n'avaient pas de barbes

ni même de chapeaux mous

Elles étaient toutes blanches

en forme de boules

Elles roulaient en file indienne

pour vite vite à la maison

se remettre de leurs émotions

rondes et lisses

À la maison une par une

elles sautaient dans le tablier

de la grande personne

Celle-ci leur chantait une chanson

en les appelant par leur prénom

Elle seule savait dans quel ordre

elles s'endormiraient

Et par là même qui était l'une

qui était l'autre

Au matin elles déboulaient

toutes fraîches toutes rebondies

Elles avaient rêvé du boulot

et se réjouissaient

d'y retourner

La grande personne quant à elle

passerait la journée

dans son cercueil de verre

à écouter le silence

sans penser

à rien

You could drive her away

To a happier place

To a happier day

That exists in your mind

And in your smile

She could escape there

Just for a while" (Martin Gore)

Original soundtrack for the dance piece "Marée haute" by Estelle Delcambre, new version for the reprise of the show in February 2024 @ Les Brigittines, Brussels

"What remains of a sensation? Of an emotion or an encounter? Do our bodies retain a trace of it? On the surface or buried deep within? Or does everything that passes through us leave only an ephemeral imprint, like an echo that fades into the distance? In Marée haute, the body immerses itself into matter. Images surge, while movements and dances escape. In this intimate solo performance, Estelle Delcambre goes in search of her deepest memories and questions the traces we leave in the world."

"Sweep away the broken glass

Some things were never meant to last

Don't cut your skin on things that linger in the past

Be sure to clear away the shards

Lest a piece should pierce your heart
