I wanted to do a podcast with my kid because I love talking with her and we had a special couple of days in Cape Breton. We talked about Mika's love of travel, the outdoors, hiking and her dreams of living the 'van life'. We also talked about a very special person who we lost recently, 'Mr. Stephy'.
I'm proud of who she is, where she's going and what she'll no doubt accomplish. So here is my Blonde Minou for those who are interested.

Matt is a former soccer team mate of mine who provides fishing guide services with his business 'Fish On! Guide Service'. He is also an elementary school teacher who has some interesting insights on recent changes in schools and the struggles of being a teacher in today's world.
I wanted to try something different and got creative with this, took the mics first on the boat to record some of our time fishing for striped bass, and afterwards in his truck to complete the interview. Thanks Matt, I had a lot of fun doing this one with you and look forward to a follow up one while we are ice fishing!

At the start of the year, Derrick hit a low point in his life when he reached approximately 600 lbs weight. He had an experience that made him realize he had to turn things around and has since begun an incredible journey to lose the weight and keep it off. He joined me to talk about his journey thus far and how he's motivated to continue with this difficult and very rewarding path.
You can follow his progress on Twitter @ChefbonesNS or on IG and Tik Tok @Cheffybones
His trainer, who is helping him reach his goal, can be found at Rickmytrainer.com

Today my friend Stuart came on to talk about his life and how discovering the world of trail running has been very therapeutic for him. We talked about his life growing up and dealing with bullying, mental health, and how finding his community of like minded people on the trails has helped him be a peace. We also discussed the big runs he has completed, the ones he couldn't complete and what it takes to prepare for these difficult tasks. The main theme here is find your passion and your people. Use your time to take on challenges while you have it.
Stuart is enthusiastic about trail running and if you are interested in giving it a try, you can find him on social media @therapy_called-running and his favorite group to run with is Nova Scotia Trail Running http://trailbugracing.blogspot.com/

The man, the myth, the legend, my oldest friend (and frankly, my brother) Adam Lawrence. Adam and I grew up together and only as an adult did I learn about some of the things he dealt with when we were kids. Adam's story includes some tough subjects including racism and abuse that no kid should suffer, but he's come through that all and is one of the best people I know. Everyone should be so lucky as to have a friend like him in their life.
This one has some foul language, not suitable for all audiences.

I've known Jennifer for eight years as our friendly accross the street neighbor and only recently learned that she is a child psychologist! I asked her to come on the show and talk about her work and experience with kids, teenager and young adults. This is a good one for parents to check out!

Cathy and I sat down at the Flight of Fancy in Bear River to talk about life, how to deal with and learn from our past. She also shares how her finding spirituality has helped her be a more positive person in how she deals with everything life throws her way. Warning - We talked about a couple of topics that some people may find offensive.

If ever there was a person or a place to inspire you to be more and to do good things within your community... Anne-Marie is that person and this is the place. I'm so glad I got to have this conversation with her and to see what an impact the North Grove has had on not only its members, but Anne-Marie herself. This is what the message is all about. She was meant to be the first guest on this podcast but I'll take her for the 9th! Danielle is a bright light and a force for good with her warm personality and she is always fun to talk to. I like her perspective on life and being positive, as well as her openness to talk about anything that came to mind. Check her out on Instagram @daniellejo18 or on her business facebook group Pursue Your Best Self Active Wear, www.mycanadazyia.com/pursueyourbestself
