Phew it has been over a year since we last spoke! In this episode we take some time to introduce ourselves and why we keep coming back to this space. We also do a quick Anzaldúa 101 & discuss the lessons we're taking with us post-Ph.D!

This episode was recorded before the tragic shooting at Club Q in CO. Our hearts are with the families of the victims: Raymond Green Vance (he/him), Kelly Loving (she/her), Daniel Aston (he/him), Derrick Rump (he/him), Ashley Paugh (she/ her). To quote Lauren Hough in her New York Times essay, "We protect ourselves. We’ll fight for our own. We always have. We’ll mourn. We’ll raise money. We’ll organize. And we’ll keep fighting, until all of us are safe, everywhere." 

In this episode, (our first since July), we talk about the nomadic nature of the post Ph.D. life, the ways it can provide some new perspective, and also the hardships that occur when you move for the next opportunity.

Ale helps us unravel the mystery of approaching a press, what she looks for in prospective authors, and much more.
