Key theological note: While the previous videos in the series were largely based directly on the writings of St. Dionysius the Areopagite and St. Gregory Palamas and the work of reliable secondary sources, this video is an attempt at a synthetic account of the apophatic as it pertains to the nature of symbolism. As such, while I would not post it if I believed it to be unfaithful to the tradition or to scripture- and believe it to be an accurate statement of the Church's faith- I would like to include this note as an asterisk.
