I've had this conversation with so many people in the last week alone: why is modern dating so fucking hard? 

I'm lucky enough to not be in this situation myself, but I really wanted to know why modern dating seems so unsuccessful for the people around me. My beautiful, vibrant friends have trouble finding anyone worth spending their time with. What happened to Sex and the City, where men were just crawling out of the woodwork? I mean, they weren't always the nicest (Alexsandr Petrovsky) but they were always AROUND (and usually hot - thank you Smith Jared). 

Really, though, outside the fictional world of TV dating I keep hearing my friends say that "there's just no one left". Everyone has always said that, right? "All the good ones are taken." But, with 7 billion people on the planet more easily accessible to us than ever before thanks to technology, how could that possibly be true?
