8 months later, ya girls are back. (Sorry, we were catching up on the sleep and pleasure debt accumulated from intern year.) A big theme of this episode is burnout, which isn't a new concept when it comes to residency or medical training in general, but is something we're actively trying to overcome every day. Now in the midst of residency, we still need to make an effort to find meaning in our work. We're also starting to think about post-residency practice settings, and we reflect on our new PGY-2 responsibilities. Happy Holidays to all our listeners!
We’re back and it’s Spring of 2021. The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, and the COVID numbers are dwindling. Join us as we talk about our experiences with post-COVID PTSD and compassion fatigue during residency. As two Asian-American physicians, we also couldn’t have done this episode without discussing the current events revolving around racism and anti-Asian hate. Enjoy the episode, and congrats to the Class of 2021 for matching!
Los Angeles in 2021: the current epicenter of corona… and yeah, we’re REALLY feeling it right now. In this ep, we discuss how we’re learning to adapt to our new responsibilities & realities as young docs during this dark time of the pandemic. This is probably the hardest intern year ever, so if you’re an intern (or any medical professional) struggling like us, remember to be kind to yourself!!

It's only been a month since our last episode, but so much has happened! Such is the life of a resident. In this week's discussion, Tracey and Lisa chat about an inevitable part of medicine: losing patients. We talk about the emotions associated with patient death and how we can learn to be better from these experiences. We also discuss the realities of finding romance during residency -- spoiler alert: it's not easy when you have to work 6/7 days a week! In sharing our stories, we hope you find some solace during your busy work week.
Welcome to our podcast!! We're Lisa and Tracey, two PGY-1's who are just trying to make it through residency one day at a time. In this episode we discuss the good and the bad of how intern year has been going so far, and we also reflect on how the 'rona has impacted our first year of being ~doctors~. We hope this content is relatable to all other medical trainees out there, because we want you to know... you're not alone!
