This week, we welcomed guest pastor Ryan Johnston. He continued working through 2 Timothy with us and encouraged us to be diligent in presenting ourselves as one approved by God, to guard ourselves against deception, and to stand firm in the faith.
He shared with us what it means to be an approved worker who needs not be ashamed. Ryan also shares that this passage in 2 Timothy warns against irreverent and empty speech and how such untruth can spread and damage the body of a church. Finally, Ryan encouraged us to stand firm in the faith. He reminded us to call on the Lord and turn from wickedness by saying two things. 1. I love you, Lord, and 2. I don’t want to sin against you.
