In our final week, as we walk through the book of Malachi and the first week of Advent, we remember, as Malachi reminds the people of Israel to do so.  God commands us to be grateful, and we continue to turn toward gratitude as we remember the LORD’s past blessing, future healing, and present commands.  This week, spend time remembering where God has blessed you this year, where you need to trust Him for your future, and where you need to be obedient as you wait.

I am grateful to you LORD because ____________. 

I trust you LORD for ____________.

As we look forward to the Advent season, we rejoice in the prophecy of Malachi for John the Baptist, who will pave the way for our Savior. Join us next, as we journey through this year’s Advent season through the eyes of John the Baptist this December.

Join us as we learn what is next for us in Malachi: generosity.  Our big truth today tells us that the blessing of God flows through our generosity as we give.  What happens as we give?  We demonstrate that all we have is from God, prove our trust in him, rest in how He provides for us, and we are then able to establish ourselves as a witness to His greatness in our lives.  Ask yourself what is keeping you from being more generous?  What next steps can you take toward becoming a more cheerful & generous giver?

What will the unchanging God do?  We trust that he will send a hero, that he will show us our need for purification, and that in the end, the unchanging God will serve justice on those who do evil.  As we grow in that trust, we need to explore the following questions. What area of my life do I need to trust the unchanging God?  What area of my life needs to be refined by God’s fire?
